Several new features appear in ReportCard 2008 - Bulk spell checker. The 2007 comment bank only allowed a spell check on the current student on the box being edited. The 2008 version will check all comment boxes one class at a time.
- Import of student absences and unexplained absences from SMS.
- Instrumental music: added instrument and attendance fields.
- Validation reports for all KLAs. Only fields being used are validated.
- Snapshot tool. Shows student scores for English and Maths from all reports. Ie it will show scores for 2007 semester 1 and 2 and semester 1 2008 on one sheet of paper. It’s an easy way to see student progress over time.
- Unlock tool. Previous reports are locked and cannot be edited. The admin unlock tool unlocks previous reports. Just remember to lock them again when you’ve finished doing what you need to do.
- Export utility. Exports student class sets to flash stick. This replaces the home version. This way, if there are any fixes needed… only ReportCard is fixed. It saves having to fix 2 versions.
- Tips on how to convert your SMS export data to sentence case. This means that student names in the comment bank will no longer be capital letters.
