STUDENT DATA SYSTEMS DATA POLICY INTRODUCTION Student Data Systems trades on the quality of its products and the integrity of its after sale support. PURPPOSE OF THE DATA POLICY Student Data Systems aims to protect all data transmission between clients/schools so that data isn’t lost, corrupted or intercepted. DATA OWNERSHIP All client data remains the property of the client/school. Student Data Systems destroys all data after sending it back to the client/school. ELECTRONIC TRANSMISSION Electronic transmission is the sending of data via telecommunication networks (over the internet). Student Data Systems acknowledges that some client/school policy restricts the transmission of corporate data electronically. Transmission thus remains the responsibility of the client/school. SECURITY Student Data Systems provides Secured Socket Layers (SSL) data encryption. Student Data Systems will only transmit student data using SSL or similar encryption to protect client/school data. DATA BACKUP Student Data Systems does not provide data backup services. Data backups remain the responsibility of the client/school. DATA INTEGRITY Student Data Systems trades on the integrity of its products. In the event of a database failure, Student Data Systems will retrieve all recoverable data and place it into a new database at no cost to the client/school. DATABASE ERRORS Student Data Systems will provide fixes to all programming errors. Student Data Systems will not be liable for data errors resulting from tampering with the database. Student Data Systems will not be liable for client data entry errors. DATABASE OMISSIONS
